Vendors

A vendor is a person or company that does repair work for you: an electrician, a plumber, a generator technician. Nutshell keeps a list so you can assign the same people again. A vendor is a name on your list, not a user: they have no login and receive no messages.

Open the list

On the Maintenance page, choose Vendors. You see each vendor's Trade, Phone and the number of Repairs assigned to them. Choose Repairs on a vendor to see those repairs.

Add a vendor

  1. Choose Add vendor.
  2. Enter the Name. Trade and Phone are optional.
  3. Save.

Names are unique in your organisation, ignoring capital letters, so you cannot add the same vendor twice. A vendor is also added automatically when you type a new name while assigning a repair.

Edit a vendor

Choose Edit on the vendor to change the name, trade or phone.

Stop using a vendor

Choose Deactivate. The vendor no longer appears when you assign a repair, but everything they did stays: their repairs, the history and the expenses that carry their name. Choose Show inactive to see deactivated vendors, and Reactivate to bring one back.

Admins, Facility Managers and Operations Assistants can manage vendors.
